CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Rossview High School baseball shortstop/ utility Caden Slaughter signed his national letter of intent to the University of Wisconsin White-Water on Wednesday. His teammates, family, friends and coaches celebrated the signing.

“It means a lot to me to sign,” said Slaughter. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, not just while I was in high school, but since I was little, I dreamed of playing college baseball. I’m blessed to be able to continue playing the game I love.”

Slaughter, during his junior year, was a Clarksville Now All-Area selection, tallying 39 RBIs on 40 hits, with an average of .374 on the year.

Rossview head coach Parker Holman was nothing but proud of one of his kids signing to the next level.

“It’s something you look forward to with every class,” said Holman. “Caden is a tremendous kid who’s committed to this program. It’s a moment that makes you smile because you know a kid is going somewhere to share not only his athletic ability but his personality and his character with another program. It’s fun to watch them plant roots somewhere else and grow.”
