CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rossview Hawks and Clarksville Wildcats both faced elimination games on Saturday afternoon for the right to go to state. Rossview hosted Collierville, while Clarksville traveled to Houston. Collierville defeated the Hawks 8-0, while Clarksville lost to Houston 4-0, and both teams’ seasons ended, marking the end of soccer season in Clarksville.

The Hawks faced Collierville for the third straight-year in sub-state at Rossview High School. The Dragons built up an early 4-0 lead despite the best efforts of the Hawks, and Rossview could not climb back in it, losing 8-0. They have nothing to hang their head about, as the team won its third straight district and region championship, finishing with a record of 9-7-2.

The Wildcats traveled to Houston High, where they were able to stifle the Mustangs early, but late goals proved to be the difference, and Clarksville fell, 4-0. But Clarksville won the regular season district championship this season, and compiled an impressive 10-7-3 record.

With the losses, girls’ soccer season is over in Clarksville. Both teams will look to rebuild for next season, and make another run at the state tournament.
