CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Association, which represents the teachers of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, voted unanimously to endorse Ronnie Glynn for State Senate District 22, citing his support for increasing public education funding, raising teacher pay, and investing more into students, according to a news release.

“We need to be investing more into our public-school systems instead of cutting their budget by $70 million and creating an unconstitutional voucher program that takes public tax dollars to pay for private school tuition,” Glynn said in the release. “With the General Assembly cutting public education funding it causes trickle down taxes to make up for that budget shortfall on a local level. Our students, teachers, administrators, and community deserve better.”

Glynn has also been endorsed by the CWA, IATSE Local 492, TN AFL-CIO, Montgomery County Commissioners Rashidah Leverett, Christopher Rasnic and Tangi Smith, State Rep. London Lamar, State Rep. Jason Hodges, State Sen. Sara Kyle, State Sen. and Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus Raumesh Akbari, and State Sen. and Senate Minority Leader Jeff Yarbro.
