Ronald Edward Stapp, age 69, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Ron was born April 15, 1947, in Northbrook, IL, to the late Edward Willard Stapp and Olga Zlabes Stapp.

Ron proudly served his country for over 22 years, in the United States Army. He retired as a Master Sergeant on July 20, 1987, with multiple medals and awards. Mr. Stapp was also a member of the American Legion (Post 233), the VFW of Dover (Post 4730), and several other veteran’s organizations. He was also an animal lover and was a part of the Stewart County Animal Management Program. Ron will always be remembered for being a provider and his constant giving to others.

Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 29, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. David Banister officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, where full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be Sunday, August 28, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, and Monday, August 29, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Ron is survived by his wife, Juanita Stapp; son, Bobby (Ann) Crain of Dover; four daughters, Natasha (Todd) Lindahl of Clarksville, Natalie (Joshua) Kazsuk of Clarksville, Sandy (Gregg) Beyor of Bladenboro, NC, and Cathy Norfleet of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Sharon (John) Kinstrey of Fayetteville, NC and Candace (Roger) Bush of Pembroke, KY; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Crain, Todd Lindahl, Joshua Kazsuk, Steven Norfleet, Roger Bush, John Kinstrey, and Steven Massey. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
