CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Robert Waugh has announced he is running for Montgomery County Commission, District 15.
Waugh is a professor at Austin Peay State University, a professional musician, the husband of a Clarksville-Montgomery County School System music teacher, and a father to two children. He has lived in Clarksville since 2014.
Waugh said his interest in local government grew from serving his neighborhood, Sango Crossing. He said growth in the area is quickly re-shaping the community’s identity, “and growing pains are felt with each passing month.”
“I am the independent candidate who will place our neighbors’ quality of life above the interests of developers, contractors and financiers pillaging our open spaces without regard for how their businesses fail to make Sango and Adams a better place to live,” he said.
He called for proactive county leadership and support for CMCSS teachers and students.
