Robert T. Wyatt, age 84, of Clarksville, departed this earthly life to go on to his Heavenly home, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

Known as Bobby to his family and friends, he was born July 17, 1931, the son of the late Robert T. Wyatt and Alberta Austin Wyatt. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Winifred Wyatt Stapp.

On August 26, 1954, he married the love of his life, Billie Faye Welker Wyatt, daughter of Ed and Lorraine Welker. This 61-year marriage produced three wonderful children, Robert T. (Chris)Wyatt III, Lynda Wyatt (Brad) Johnson, and Mary Faye Wyatt Self. He was devoted to his wife, children, and his three grandchildren, R.T. Wyatt IV, Sara Austin Wyatt, and Philip Bryan Self, Jr. who were the joy of his life. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Jan (Fred) Sawyers and Trudy (Dennis) Vaughan.

Bobby graduated from Clarksville High School in 1949, holding the honor of president of his senior class. After serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, he went back to college, on the G.I. Bill, at Austin Peay State University, where he later graduated. After graduation, he started his life’s work in sales, beginning in the sales department of the former Acme Boot Company. From there, he worked with his father-in-law at Ed Welker’s Appliance Store. He later became the manager and owning partner of the former Furniture Showrooms of Clarksville. What he enjoyed most of all was the car business, being associated with Brandon Groves Oldsmobile and Cadillac. He eventually retired from Brandon Toyota.

During his years in the business world, he was an active member of the Clarksville Civitan Club. As his son was growing up, he was actively involved in Boy Scouts of America and Little League Baseball. Second to his family was his love of golf.

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 8, at 2:00 PM, at Madison Street United Methodist Church, with Rev. Cliff Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 8, from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Robert Wyatt, Bill Wyatt, Brad Johnson, Stuart Stapp, Stephen Stapp, R.T. Wyatt, Bryan Self, Dawson Durrett, Fred Sawyers, and Dennis Vaughan. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Chanel, Evans Harvill, Hershal Basham, members of the Willard Blue Sunday School Class, and the CHS Class of 1949.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Walking Horse Meadows and AseraCare Hospice, for their loving care of Bobby during his final days.
