Robert Carlson Crain age 76 of Clarksville, Tenn. passed away on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.

Crain was born August 20, 1944 in Escondito, Calif. the son of the late Gordon C. Quackenbush and Erma Mae Flint Austin. Robert served his country in the US Navy for four years, stationed in San Diego and Hawaii. He was a radioman in the Navy and, following his time in the military, he worked for many years in the pest control business.

He later worked as a private contractor for the Department of Defense and was stationed in Afghanistan, Kandahar and Uzbekistan. Upon completion of that duty, he returned to the pest control business and was recently working with Catos Pest Control.

Robert is a member of Thomas Chapel Seventh Day Assembly in Erin. He was devoted to his family, his job and church. He enjoyed working on puzzles, playing pool and watching TV. He was a likeable person with a good sense of humor.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Winnie Vinson Crain of Clarksville and daughters, Tashina Lynn Crain of Clarksville and Katherine Marie Crain of Clarksville. He is also survived by his brother John Crain Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.

Robert was blessed with four grandchildren, Hailey Bre-Ann Welch, Jayda Marie Welch, William Kendrick Scott Welch and Rebecca Lynnae Crain as well as one great-grandson, Heston Callahan Smith.

A memorial graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday June 16, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Thomas Cemetery located on 1017 Kizer Ridge Road, Erin, Tenn. Elder Wayne Hayes will officiate and military honors will be conducted.
