Robert “Bob” Lee Phares, age 73, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, in Fort Campbell, KY. He was born May 19, 1940 in Cass, West Virginia, to the late Roland Kenneth Phares and Erma Mae Simmons Phares. Bob was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Sue Higgins Phares, five brothers, Everett, Woodrow, Wilson, Richard, and John Phares, as well as two sisters, Dessa Horner and Lorena Case.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 25 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – West,
in Hopkinsville, KY, with Brother David Evans officiating.
Bob was retired from the United States Air Force.
Military personnel will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include one son, Glen (Helen) Phares; one daughter, Andrea (Thomas) Eckert; two brothers, Sterling and James Phares; two sisters, Virginia Case and Ida Bell Meier; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Christian, Rachael Phares, Brandon Phares, Jessica Hart, Kathryn Brown, Brianna Eckert, and Daniel Eckert; and one great-grandchild, Karsyn Hart.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203, or a charity of your choice.
