CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Drivers downtown will have some detours next week as sewer work begins for construction of the Montgomery County Multi-Purpose Event Center.
Starting Monday, Sept. 14, there will be several lane closures as crews work to tie-in sewer services, according to a county news release. The closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The timelines and locations include:
- Partial intersection shutdown at College Street and North Second Street, Sept. 14-18.
- Eastbound lane of College Street closed between North First Street and North Second, Sept. 14-18.
- Both lanes of North Second closed between College and Main Street, Sept. 14-Oct. 2.
“The cooperation between our project team, TDOT, the City Street Department, Clarksville Gas and Water, and Clarksville Transit has been great,” Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett said in the release. “We appreciate everyone working together on this part of the process. Tying into sewer services is one important step of many as we move forward in making MPEC a reality for our community.”
