MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – UPDATE: River Road has been reopened to traffic following the repair of a collapsed culvert earlier this week.
River Road, between Antioch Church Road and Highway 149 will be closed to all traffic until further notice due to a collapsed culvert under the roadway.
The hole was originally reported as a sinkhole by Montgomery County Government, but upon further inspection it was determined to be caused by the collapsed culvert.
The public will be notified once it is repaired and reopened to traffic.
Three sinkholes have affected Clarksville traffic within the past nine months.
It was a little more than year ago when a major sinkhole disrupted construction of the new Austin Peay football stadium.
