CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The River Club Golf and Learning Center is planning to build a one-story, covered hitting bay facility at its location on Warfield Boulevard and is seeking site plan approval from the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission.
The River Club would develop the one-story hitting bay on an existing concrete pad, according to part owner Greg Guinn.

“Since COVID, golf has changed somewhat,” Guinn told Clarksville Now. “With the Top Golf facilities in the larger metropolitian areas, people have gravitated somewhat towards the entertainment function of golf.”
“We have plans in front of the RPC to try and develop 15 Toptracer bays,” he said. “We poured the concrete for the pad, and we were going to do it outside, but then we decided against it because we need to be able to have people down there year-round regardless of the weather.”
Guinn said The River Club currently has a building on the driving range, and the plan is to utilize a couple of the hitting bays there and make it a premium experience. “Then, we’ll have 13 others that are new and outfitted with all of the Toptracer technology,” he said.

Guinn said each hitting bay should accommodate six to eight golfers, with an integrated experience between virtual reality golfing and the real thing. “If you’ve been to Top Golf, this is what it is but on a smaller scale,” he said.
Due to the demand of their driving range, The River Club added 60 parking spaces in August. The spaces are also meant to make more room for customers at Clyde’s of Clarksville.
“We’re excited about possibly introducing recreational golf for the person that’s coming out to be entertained,” Guinn said. “And hopefully, they’ll gravitate up and learn how to play good enough to get on a golf course as well.”
The River Club also plans to develop a new pro shop, Guinn said.
