Richard T. Mitchell, age 66, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Gateway Medical Center.
Richard was born December 1, 1948, in Toledo, OH, to the late Leon Stanley Mitchell, Sr. and Thelma Lowery Mitchell.
Richard was retired from the US Army, having served two tours in Vietnam. He also worked for the US Postal Service for 17 years. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the special forces organization, the Disabled Army Veterans (DAV), and the Harley-Davidson Owners Group (HOG). He was a regular at Waffle House, where everyone called him “Smiley.”
Richard is survived by his wife, Zoe Zierolf Mitchell; two daughters, Tracy Lyn (Jeff) Petsch of Dupont, WA and Nichole Rose (C.J.) Beery of Clarksville; two brothers, Leon Stanley Mitchell, Jr. of Toledo, OH and Joseph Mitchell of Sylvania, OH; and six grandchildren, Peyton, Adeline, Allana, Brendon, Cory Lyn, and Wesley.
No services are planned, and Richard’s remains are to be cremated.
