Richard Harold Patterson, Sr., age 76, of Clarksville, died Sunday, August 24, 2014, at his residence.
He was born October 1, 1937, in Long Branch, NJ, to the late Robert Whitfield Patterson and Eleanor Coleman Patterson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Brand Patterson.
Richard was a union steam fitter. He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, local union #9.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will be at Old Tenant Cemetery, in Manalapan Township, NJ at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his son, Richard Harold Patterson, Jr., of Clarksville; daughter, Sharon Leigh Nye, of New Jersey; three stepchildren, Albert (Skip) Robinson, Jeffrey Robinson, and Lynne Straughen, all of New Jersey; two brothers, Robert W. Patterson, Jr. and Stephen Patterson, both of New Jersey; 14 grandchildren, including Cassandra Patterson, Richard Patterson, III, Angela Morse, and Nikki McClellan; and several great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203, or to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society, 940 Tennessee Avenue, Clarksville, TN 37040.
