A Memorial Service for Richard Wayne Majors, age 66, will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
Richard was born on January 15, 1957, to Charles Wallace Long Sr. and Mary Margaret Hughes in Clarksville, TN. He passed away on April 17, 2023.
Richard enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors, grilling, fishing, gardening, walking, and relaxing in the park. Richard was a self-taught mechanic and carpenter. He had a passion for working on cars, especially when others believed it couldn’t be fixed. Richard made it work. He truly was a jack of all trades.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Sandra E. Oneal, 5 siblings and granddaughter Joslyne Majors. Richard is survived by his children, LaTanya (Dwight) Jemison, Crystal Majors, Craig Majors, and Angela Majors, grandchildren, Jasmyne Hughes, Jada Young, Avry Hughes, and Donovan Jemison, and siblings, James Majors and Clarissa Majors.
