CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The complete list of gameday promotions for Austin Peay State University women’s soccer and volleyball home matches was released Wednesday, featuring family fun and welcoming back our Governors alumni.

The events begin with the annual Governors FanFest, which will coincide with the women’s soccer home opener vs. Evansville, Aug. 28. Reunion weekends and giveaways highlight the promo schedule for both sports, helping make the events fun for people of all ages.

“We’re looking to create a better fan experience at Austin Peay,” Assistant Athletics Director for External Affairs Josh Jorgensen said. “We know our student-athletes love playing in front of a supportive, energized crowd, so it’s our job to make the gameday atmosphere as great as possible.”

Each event will be labeled on sport-specific calendars. All promotions are subject to change.

Soccer
In addition to FanFest, the women’s soccer team invites all Montgomery County Soccer Association players to join the Govs on the field during pregame introductions for the home opener. On Sept. 9-11 – matches against South Alabama and Alabama A&M – Austin Peay will celebrate its 15-year soccer anniversary with a reunion weekend. The Alabama A&M contest will also serve as Senior Day.

Family weekend will take place Sept. 23-24. In-state rival UT Martin travels to Clarksville, Sept. 24, which will serve as Camper Reunion Day. This is an opportunity for players who attended summer camp to return to the Dunn Center to watch the Govs.

When October arrives, APSU will hold its annual ‘Peaynk Out’ match on Oct. 15 where everyone is encouraged to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Faculty Appreciation Night, Oct. 25, gives players a chance to invite their favorite professor to join them on the court for introductions.
