A student researcher at The Institute for Clinical Social Work will conduct a study in an attempt to find the meaning of the self-expression of being ‘broken’.
This research study is for soldiers who have combat experience and have defined themselves at some point as being broken.
Volunteers are needed for the study. Details are as follows:
Would the study be a good fit for me?
This study might be a good fit for you if:
• Active duty soldier with combat experience, MOS 11 or 18 series
• Deployment in either Iraq or Afghanistan
• Referred to yourself as ‘being broken’
What would happen if I took part in the study?
If you decide to take part in the research study, you would:
• Phone interview with researcher to meet criteria
• Three face to face 45 min interviews
• Discuss the impact of combat experience
What are the benefits if I took part in the study?
The possible benefits if you take part in the study:
• Outcome provides understanding of the combat soldier’s experience of being broken
• Aid professionals in the mental health field in providing treatment for soldiers
