CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville search and rescue teams were called in after a man tubing down the river was separated from his group. Ricky Fletcher was found safe late Sunday after first responders searched for several hours to locate the man.
Fletcher, 61, entered the West Fork Creek from Billy Dunlop Park Sunday. He was with a group of people in inner tube floats, but became separated a short time later.
Fletcher did not have a cell phone with him at the time. West Fork Creek flows into the Red River.
TWRA, Montgomery County Search and Rescue, and Clarksville Police were all involved in the search.
Fletcher was found safe just after 11 p.m. near Allen Griffey Rd. The river bank is very steep and he was unable to climb up on his own.
Rescue operations began and Fletcher appears to be safe and unharmed.
