CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Republican Party hosted its annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner on Friday at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center with a theme of Meet the Candidates.

Close to 400 GOP candidates, members and supporters were in attendance and were welcomed by Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman John Dawson. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee was the keynote speaker, and he was introduced by state Sen. Bill Powers.

State Rep. Jay Reedy was honored for his service since 2014 to the 74th District, which included the western portion of Montgomery County along with Houston and Humphreys counties. Because of redistricting, Reedy no longer represents that part of Montgomery County.

State Rep. Curtis Johnson recognized Reedy at the dinner, and Reedy was given a proclamation from County Mayor Jim Durrett, presented by County Commissioners John Gannon, Joe Smith, Joshua Beal, James Lewis and David Harper.

A silent auction was held, followed by a live auction, and both were fundraisers for the local Republican organization.
