Update, 3:30 p.m.: The school bus driver is in critical condition in a Memphis hospital, according to those close to her.
Update, 2:22 p.m.: County Mayor Wes Golden said the person killed was from Montgomery County, according to WKRN. “This is a bad day in Montgomery County,” Golden said in a statement. “Prayer is absolutely needed right now.”
Update, 2:17 p.m.: The bus was transporting a group of students and employees from Kenwood Middle School to Jackson for a field trip, according to CMCSS. Families of all on the bus have been contacted.
Update, 2:08 p.m.: Montgomery County Commissioner David Shelton said a bus carrying students from Kenwood Middle School collided with a dump truck. There have been reports of serious injuries and at least one fatality. “Please join me in prayer for the families and everyone impacted by this tragic event. At this time, we do not know exactly how it happened,” Shelton said.

CARROLL COUNTY, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol is responding to a deadly crash involving a school bus in Carroll County, about 100 miles southwest of Clarksville.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 70 and Cedar Grove on Friday, Clarksville Now news partner WKRN-Channel 2 reported. The crash reportedly involved an “out-of-county school bus” and another vehicle.
Nashville media are reporting that it is a Clarksville-Montgomery County School System bus.
“This remains an ongoing investigation, and troopers are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash,” wrote THP in a post about the crash. No additional details were immediately released.
