CLARKSVILLE, TN – Replant Clarksville had its first volunteer-assisted tree planting on Saturday, Dec. 13. Thirty-five volunteers braved the cold to plant 50 trees in Civitan Park.

Replant Clarksville planned the tree types and locations, provided the trees and organized the event. Montgomery County Parks and Recreation staff assisted with the planning and planting. Morgan Contracting donated a crew and equipment to auger the holes for the trees.

“This is a classic example of different groups coming together to improve quality of life for the whole community,” Replant Clarksville said. This group planted the following 1-inch caliper trees: 12 Shumard Oaks, 9 Redbuds, 8 Dogwoods, 7 White Pines, 5 Bald Cypress, 4 Tulip Poplars, and 3 October Glory Maples.

Replant Clarksville subcontractors are currently planting 305 more mature 2-inch caliper trees at 6 different schools campuses over the next two weeks.
