NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada (R-Franklin) today appointed State Representative Jay Reedy (R–Erin) to the Governor’s Council for Armed Forces, Veterans, and Their Families.
The Council is charged with facilitating collaboration and coordination of federal, state, and local organizations and members of the Tennessee General Assembly in order to strengthen the system of care for service members, veterans, and their families.
Additionally, the group works closely with various service and advocacy organizations that address unique challenges faced by the veteran population of Tennessee including mental illness, traumatic brain injury, employment, housing, and education.
“Representative Reedy has been a strong advocate for our brave military members and their families in the General Assembly,” said Speaker Casada. “I thank Representative Reedy for his service to our country, and I know he will continue to support our veterans, service members, and their families as a member of this important council.”

Jay Reedy serves as Chairman of the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Finance, Ways and Means Committee and the Government Operations Committee.
