NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Freshman Representative Jason Hodges of Clarksville has been named Deputy Minority Whip for the 111th General Assembly.
As Deputy Whip, Hodges will be called upon to help ensure party discipline in the House Democratic Caucus, urging fellow legislators to attend voting sessions and vote according to party policy.
“It is exceptional for a freshman lawmaker to come in and assume this kind of responsibility, and we have complete confidence in Rep. Hodges to help us accomplish our goals,” said Caucus Chairman Mike Stewart in a statement.
Rep. Hodges added, “I am honored by this appointment and I look forward to doing all I can to aid the Caucus.”
