CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. = Adults at least 50-years-old can register now through Monday, May 5 for Clarksville’s 50-Plus Olympics.
This year’s events will be held May 13-17 at various locations around Clarksville, to include the Pinnacle Bowling Center, Swan Lake Sports Complex, Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, Rossview High School track, and the Crow & Kleeman Community Centers. Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and indoor swimming events.
The Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics will begin with an opening reception at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at The Pinnacle Bowling Center located at 430 Warfield Boulevard. The closing dinner and awards ceremony will feature a sophisticated, Oscar theme and will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park. Dinner tickets are included in the registration cost, but for others who would like to attend the dinner and award ceremony, a $10 ticket may be purchased at the Parks and Recreation office.
Participants who register on or before April 25 qualify for the Early Bird Rate of $20. Cost to register April 26 through May 5 is $25. Registration fee includes complimentary event t-shirt and dinner ticket.
