CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – We’ve cleared the first part of the postseason and now Clarksville area teams are on to regional play. This time, the stakes are higher, as we have several win-or-go-home matchups upcoming. Let’s take a look at the regional tournament schedule for the upcoming week.
Girls’ high school basketball
We’ll start with the girls, where the region tournaments kick off with the quarterfinals on Friday. In region 7-4A here are the matchups, which are all win-or-go home games beginning at 7 p.m.
- The Clarksville High Wildcats host the Kenwood Knights.
- The Rossview High Hawks host the Northwest Vikings.
- The Kirkwood High Cobras will travel to Dickson County.
- And the Northeast High Eagles travel to Henry County.
The only Clarksville team still playing outside region 7 is Montgomery Central, which will compete in the region 6-3A tournament, traveling to Lawrence County on Friday Night.
After that, the region semifinals and championship games will be held at a neutral site on Monday and Wednesday. Region 7-4A will be held at West Creek High School, and region 6-3A will be held at Tullahoma High School. The winner of each region will host a sectional game on Saturday, March 7, with the right to go to the state tournament on the line.
Boys’ high school basketball
As for the boys, their region tournaments kick off Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Region 7-4A’s quarterfinals will see Northwest High host their rival in Northeast High, Henry County welcomes Clarksville High to town, West Creek gets a rematch with the Hawks at Rossview High, and Kirkwood will face off against and host Dickson County.
Meanwhile, the Montgomery Central Indians are hosting a regional quarterfinal for the first time in over 20 years as they face Lawrence County in the region 6-3A tournament.
Following the quarterfinals, the region semifinals and championships will be held at a neutral site on Tuesday and Thursday. Region 7-4A will be held at West Creek High School, and region 6-3A will be held at Tullahoma High School. The winner of each region will host a sectional game on Monday, March 9, with the right to go to the state tournament on the line.
