CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Red River Spartans USPHL Premier team earned a 3-0 victory over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday evening at F&M Bank Arena, as part of a doubleheader that also featured the Spartans 18U AAA team later in the night.
The Spartans opened the scoring midway through the first period when Jett Jock scored on the Cyclones’ goaltender giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead. The Spartans controlled much of the play through the rest of the period.
In the second period, a two-minute tripping penalty on Jake Hayward gave Cincinnati a chance to score, but the Spartans kept them off the board. Jock added another goal with assists from Jack Treacy and Julian Niedermann to make it 2-0.
The final goal came in the third period from Greyson Betzold, assisted by Sander Korrell and Cooper Walling, closing out the 3-0 win.
The Spartans 18U AAA team followed with their game against Cincinnati at 8 p.m.
