CLARKSVILLE, TN − Tennessee Environmental Council is excited to host their second Recycling Roundup in Montgomery County. Everyone is encouraged to bring their hard-to-recycle items to Montgomery County Veterans Plaza on Saturday, May 17, from 9 am to 1 pm. Anyone willing to drive to the event is welcome to attend.

People may bring electronics, tires, blocks of Styrofoam, mattresses, glass bottles, medications, medical and pet supplies, eyeglasses, and more. Secure paper shredding will also be on site. Visit tectn.org/clarksvillerecycles for a detailed list of materials that will be accepted at the event, as well as any item limitations.

This event is one of many being organized by TEC, a statewide nonprofit organization. TEC’s goal with these roundups is to reduce litter and illegal dumping and to help ease the burden on local landfills. This event is free and open to the public. This roundup is funded under a grant contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

“Recycling Roundups make it easy and convenient for households to recycle,” says Jeffrey Barrie, CEO of Tennessee Environmental Council. “We are happy to provide an important service and help community members clean up their homes with a good conscience,” says Barrie.

Those interested in volunteering for this event can sign up at this link: https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MTc2NTA0. One volunteer will be chosen at random to receive a prize.
