CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) As many continue to feel the after effects from the tornadoes that struck Montgomery County in late February, families in the Farmington and Deepwood areas continue to recover from the storms.

One resident, Daphne Taylor, who lived on Deepwood Trail, spoke with Clarksvillenow.com about how some of the residents are still in need of help, mostly to clear debris from fallen trees. Taylor said many of her neighbors are struggling to do the work themselves and have spent a lot of money on cleanup.

She said her family and their neighbors have put out a lot of money and they just can’t afford to pay someone for more help.

“So just someone who can come in there and just maybe help with some stump grinding, filling in some holes, just stuff like that,” Taylor said.

Taylor’s home was condemned after the storm and is now under inspection until her family can move back in.

“We will move back there. These are not my neighbors, this is my family,” she said.

Some of the Deepwood residents have received financial support from LifePoint Church on Rossview Rd. in the Farmington area where the other tornado hit. Residents there have also received help from the church.

Another resident, Jeff Giarizzo on Deepwood Circle, expressed the need for assistance.

“We have a lot of stumps that remain from the trees that won’t burn so we need these taken care of and hauled off of our property,” Giarizzo said.

Giarizzo added there there is also a lot of dirt leftover from the stumps that needs to be spread out and back filled where the stumps were to take care of the holes. He also mentioned help with donations of new trees in the future once the debris is cleared away.
