CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLE) A reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place on the steps of the Montgomery County Courthouse at 9:30 a.m. on July 4. The public is encouraged to attend the event and hear why we celebrate Independence Day.
This is the fourth year for the reading and organizer David Brockman talked about the event. “It’s not a political rally, it’s not taking sides on one issue or the other, it’s simply just reading the Declaration of Independence which is why we celebrate Independence Day,” said Brockman.
Brockman added he runs into people all the time who say they’ve never actually heard the Declaration of Independence read all the way through or they’ve read it all the way through so it’s a great time to come out and hear it read. The reading will take place on the N. 2nd St. side of the Montgomery County Courthouse
