CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – 5 Star Media Group is helping to organize a final donation drive effort to collect supplies for victims of the recent wildfires in East Tennessee.
As of Monday morning, 14 are confirmed dead, 100 injured and more than 1,400 structured were burned or damaged.
Those who wish to donate can drop off supplies Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Appleton Harley Davidson (2501 Hwy 41A Bypass).
The following items are still needed:
• Canned and dry goods (no glass)
• New underwear, bras, socks and gloves
• Bottled Water/Sports Drinks
• Diapers & Baby Wipes
• Hats and Coats
• Pet Food & Litter
• Laundry Detergent & Bleach
• Dish Soap & Cleaning Supplies
• Toilet Paper & Tissues
• and of course – cash or gift cards!
Volunteers are also needed Saturday morning to separate and load the items onto the truck. Volunteers can go to 500 Port Royal Road at 9 a.m.
This donation drive stems from an effort started by local firefighters, who are working in tandem with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) to collect items that are most needed and to coordinate delivery with state officials on the ground in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
