CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – It’s been a long week, your back is sore, your knees ache and your stress level is through the roof. You need help coping with all of this but the mere thought of visiting the doctor’s office is enough to make you convince yourself that you can hang on for just one more day. If this sounds familiar than take heart because the answer to one of these problems can help heal you mind, body and spirit.

Radiant Yoga, a local business co-owned and operated by a U.S. Army veteran, offers affordable hot yoga classes to residents of the Fort Campbell area. Hot yoga is a total mind and body practice that allows its participants to improve their physical health, relieve pain, release stress and help relieve depression in a positive, motivating, and relaxing heated environment.

“Yoga helps everyone from the stressed out college student, to the mom that needs to get away, the business man coming home from work, the soldiers dealing with the military. It enhances creativity amongst our artists, helps aid menopausal women and prenatal women. Yoga helps everyone during every stage of life,” said Trish Nagy, E-RYT, certified directional healing practitioner, certified aroma therapist, certified holistic life coach, and co-owner (along with Rene Balogh) of Radiant Yoga.

“If you can breathe you can do yoga. It doesn’t matter what body shape you are, age, health conditions you have been through. If you can breathe you can do yoga.”

People first come to yoga for a variety of reasons: to release stress, to improve their health, or just to look better. They stay with yoga for the same reason, because of how it makes them feel physically, spiritually and emotionally.

“This was my first time coming to Radiant Yoga,” said Caleb Almond, 27, a local tattoo artist. “My favorite part of the class was the meditation at the end with the cold towel on my face and how the instructor, Trish, was describing how we built up all that energy, and now it’s available for our body to rebuild. We all let our egos get so high and it’s nice to bring them down. I am definitely coming back!”

Radiant Yoga creates a stress free environment where their students can feel safe and at peace.

“I started coming to yoga because I was full of stress. It was the first time I started sweating, even though I had exercised before. And as I continued to sweat, I began to let my stress go,” said Kimberly Wiggins, a financial adviser with a local bank. “What I like the most about Radiant Yoga is you are reminded to acknowledge whatever you have going on in your life, and leave it outside the door. Radiant Yoga is my safe place.”

Radiant Yoga is dedicated to helping our military through specialized training that focuses on common military health concerns. It is not only a veteran-owned business, all of their certified instructors are Fort Campbell active duty military wives as well.

“Warrior yoga training adequately meets the needs of our military,” Nagy said. “This additional training we are currently going through teaches us about brain function and neuro-pathways and it is specialized, how we move our yoga to support our warriors that have injuries both mental and physical.

Radiant Yoga is located at 219-A Industrial Drive off Wilma Rudolph Blvd. They have classes that are accommodating to almost any schedule, including evenings and weekends. Classes are structured for every person from the beginner to the more advanced yogi. For more information, visit www.radiantyogaclarksville.com.
