CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – For several years, 5 Star Media Group has held a big annual event to make sure that teachers have plenty of school supplies. Last year, that event became a two-day radiothon on Q108 called Q-Up the Classroom, and it raised a whopping $27,000 for the CMC Teacher Warehouse.
With your help, let’s raise the goal this year to $40,000!
The second Q-Up the Classroom will be Thursday and Friday, July 24 and 25, featuring teachers joining us on Q108 to share stories about the need for these supplies and the difference they make to the families of students in their classrooms.
Also joining us on-air this year will be Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden, CMCSS Schools Director Jean Luna Vedder, the Kirkwood High School Band, state Rep. Aron Maberry, state Sen. Bill Powers, Miss Clarksville and Miss Teen Clarksville, the Clarksville High School Cheer Team and many more guests.
Plus, nationally syndicated radio show hosts Erik Zachary and Jordan Foster with XYZ with Erik Zachary will be in town to help out in the studio.

How to help
The Teacher Warehouse, provided by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation, is a free supply store available to CMCSS teachers. Teachers have access to donated supplies for the benefit of student achievement. In the past 15 years, the store has saved local teachers an estimated $800,000 in out-of-pocket expenses.

By donating financially to the CMC Teacher Warehouse, the staff can purchase exactly what teachers need the most, including often-overlooked items like toiletries and personal care items. You can make a monetary donation of any size, but donating $50 will make you an honorary Backpack Filler. You can wait and become a Backpack Filler during the live radiothon on Q108, or you can go ahead and make your $50 donation online today.
Be sure to tune in to Q108 Thursday and Friday to hear more, and to call in at 931-648-7721 with your pledge! Anyone donating $50 or more will have their name mentioned on the air.
Q-Up the Classroom is presented by Grace Dental and The Youth Academy.
