CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A puppy who was brought into Montgomery County Animal Care and Control is in need of donations after being hit by a car.

The Yorkshire terrier, who was named “Buttons”, was taken in for emergency care where he was treated for pain and placed on antibiotics, according to Doug Heimback with Leadership Clarksville. X-rays revealed the puppy’s mangled leg had been fractured and infection had set in.

A referral to Blue Pearl Veterinary services this week concluded that emergency surgery would be needed to save the puppy’s leg. Surgery has been scheduled in Nashville.

While Animal Control is not funded to provide this type of required medical care, the community can donate using through the YouCaring account that has been set up for the puppy’s surgery.

All donations will go directly to Buttons’ surgery and medical care.
