CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Libraries aren’t always a quiet place: On Saturday, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library was filled with singing and dancing as the library celebrated the end of 2022 with a Noon Year’s Eve Balloon Drop.

More than 1,300 kids and adults counted down until close to 600 balloons fell at noon on Dec. 31 to celebrate the arrival of 2023.

Along with music and dancing, there were arts and crafts, games and snacks.

They had a fantastic turnout, according to Laura Hoffman, Youth Services and Outreach supervisor for the library.

Joanna Katz with the library said they were excited because they have not been able to do the event since 2019, and it gave the kids a chance to ring in the new year without staying up until midnight.
