CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The public is invited to honor the life of an United States Air Force veteran with no known family or friends who passed away recently. Gateway Funeral Home will hold a service Thursday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Middle Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery in Nashville.
Gateway Funeral Home, who is handling the arrangements, learned that the Veteran recently resided at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville and passed away at Tennova Healthcare.
The search for relatives was unsuccessful, however the funeral home is committed to the Veteran receiving an honorable burial.
He will receive military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force. The Patriot Guard has agreed to be in attendance. The costs associated with this funeral service will be borne by Gateway Funeral Home.
“While we do not know the story behind this individual or the events that brought him to this ending of his life,” Gateway Funeral Home said on Facebook, “we do know that he served his country and he deserves an honorable burial.”
