CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department has recently seen an increase in reports of appliance thefts from vacant homes for sale in the area.
At a house on Trenton Rd., a neighbor confronted a man who had been walking around the vacant house. The unidentified man had a silver SUV with a trailer carrying a lawn mower hitched to the back. The man told the neighbor he was there to mow the grass.
The owner of the property said he did not hire the man for lawn care services, and police believe he may have been casing the house for appliances but left before a crime occurred.
