Story by Debra Sutton

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Nearly two years ago, Sites and Sutton Marketing began producing Project Rescue. Airing on Clarksville’s Community Channel 10 on Charter, Project Rescue’s mission is to bring awareness of the problem of animal over-population, educate the public in responsible pet ownership, and promote the adoption of shelter animals.

“We are very pleased to expand our scope of information with the addition of Christina Webb Galben, DVM as host of Project Rescue,” said producer Kay Sites.

Galben grew up in a rural setting, knowing early on that veterinary medicine was in her future. She graduated from Austin Peay State University (APSU) with a BS in agriculture in 1998, then from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM in 2002. She has been practicing locally for the last 10 years, and now teaches full time at APSU. Animal rescue and public education are great interests of Christina’s, and influence how she teaches and practices veterinary medicine.

As Dr. Galben explains, “I am excited to be hosting Project Rescue on Charter Channel 10. I feel that increasing public awareness is the best way to combat the problem of pet over-population and animal abuse or neglect. I’ll inform middle Tennessee and Kentucky of a broad range of topics, including specifics about domestic animals and wildlife, rescue programs, veterinary and training tips, and many other topics. I’m pleased to be working with Kay Sites, of Sites & Sutton Marketing, and producer of this show. I believe that, together, we can bring a new level of consciousness to the members of the community, and improve conditions for the pets, livestock, and wildlife around us.”

Project Rescue can be seen on Channel 10 on the Charter system every day at 5:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. Episodes can also be found on YouTube and information on adoptable pets and local pet rescue organizations can be found at ProjectRescueTN.org.
