CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW.COM) – Rhonda Kennedy, Principal of Barkers Mill Elementary, has been named the Tennessee School Counselor Association’s 2016 Elementary Principal of the Year.
Kennedy was selected from among other administrators throughout the state who were nominated for significant contributions to the school counseling profession. Kennedy’s nomination cited her constant support of the school counseling program, emphasis on leadership development for school counselors, and advocacy for school counseling and social/emotional success for all students.
The Tennessee School Counselor Association promotes excellence in school counseling and supports the work of school counselors that enhances student development and achievement. The School Administrator Award was created to recognize strong leaders like Mrs. Kennedy who support and advocate for school counseling.
Kennedy will receive her award at the School Counselor & Administrator Leadership Institute.
