CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – In a briefing Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced that President Joe Biden will travel to Fort Campbell to perform a storm briefing on Wednesday.

This news comes after a night of severe weather on Friday and Saturday that killed several people in Kentucky and Tennessee and destroyed buildings and downed power lines.

Psaki announced that in addition, they will be traveling to Mayfield, Ky., and Dawson Springs, Ky., to survey storm damage.

“We have been working around the clock through the weekends closely with the governors of the impacted states and local leaders to ensure they have everything they need to respond to and recover from this unimaginable tragedy,” Psaki said in the briefing.

Clarksville Now has reached out to Fort Campbell for further information.

In February 2011, he attended a Fort Campbell High School football game. He extended that trip to make a surprise visit with troops returning from Afghanistan. He also visited the post with President Barack Obama in May 2011.
