Eagles running back Walter Gooch had both a punt return and kick return for touchdowns, making his impact felt on special teams.
Vikings quarterback Markkus Farrior connected with Kimarion Austin-Walker for a 70-yard score in the second quarter.
Northeast’s Jaiden Puig tossed two touchdown passes to Dez Fort and Jaylen Bussey in the win.
Northwest (1-5, 1-3) will look to regroup during their bye week before visiting Clarksville (2-5, 1-3) Friday, Oct. 23.
Northeast (5-1, 5-0) has a bye week before facing off with Henry County (6-2, 4-0) Friday, Oct. 23 for the Region 7-5A championship.

Offensive woes continue for Montgomery Central
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – After struggling to find the end zone for two straight weeks, Montgomery Central’s offensive woes continued on Friday.
With the game tied at 7-7 at halftime, seventh-ranked Springfield pulled away from the third quarter on for a 28-7 victory.
Montgomery Central (3-3, 1-3) will look to get back in the win column when they take on West Creek (1-5, 0-4) Friday, Oct. 16.

West Creek’s slow start leads to win for Henry County
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – West Creek football stumbled out of the gates, falling behind early en route to a 56-13 loss Friday to Henry County.
Henry County’s Jermarcus Johnson finished with 189 rushing yards and three touchdowns, as the Patriots won their homecoming game for the 14th consecutive season.
Cole Townsend also added two rushing touchdowns for Henry County.
Next up for the Coyotes (1-5, 0-4) is a home game against Montgomery Central (3-3, 1-3) as they take on the Indians Friday, Oct. 16.

Clarksville outlasts Kenwood in track meet
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – In what would prove to be a back-and-forth Region 7-5A matchup, Clarksville High football broke the game open late to secure a 55-38 win over Kenwood on Thursday.
The Knights took a 30-29 lead into the break on the back of their quarterback Jaylen Washington who threw for three first-half scores.
Clarksville’s Jeremiah Martin came up with a huge special teams play on the second-half kickoff, forcing a fumble and then taking it in for a touchdown.
With eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Wildcat running back Rayshawn Bowling extended his team’s lead to double digits on a goal-line score.
Clarksville (2-5, 1-3) has a bye week before they host Northwest (1-5, 1-3) Friday, Oct. 23.
Kenwood (2-5, 2-3) will look to rebound, as they travel to take on Rossview (4-2, 2-1) Friday, Oct. 16.

Rossview’s hot streak extinguished by Lipscomb Academy
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Rossview football entered Thursday’s home meeting with Lipscomb Academy, riding a four-game winning streak.
Despite playing the Mustangs to a stalemate in the middle two quarters, the Hawks were unable to slow down Lipscomb Academy early on and late, falling 48-21.
Mustangs junior running back Alex Broome found paydirt on his team’s final two drives to put the game out of reach.
Rossview’s Diivonta Phillips continued his stellar play of late with 22 carries for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
Aaron Bolster had five catches for 74 yards while Parker Kirkpatrick brought in five receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown for the Hawks.
Rossview (4-2, 2-1) takes on Kenwood (2-5, 2-3) Friday, Oct. 16 in a non-region matchup.
