CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville boys basketball came away with a 62-57 win Tuesday at home against Northeast.

With the victory, the Wildcats move into second place in the District 10-AAA standings with one game left to play.

Wildcat junior JJ Wheat scored a team-high 16 points followed Charles Freeman with 13 points.

Marcus Averhart and Isaiah Farrior finished with 17 points each for the Eagles.

Northeast closes out the regular season Friday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at home in a non-district meeting with Ensworth.

Clarksville hosts Kenwood Friday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the regular season.

Lady Wildcats roar past Lady Eagles on Senior Night

Clarksville girls basketball wasted no time generating offense Tuesday at home against Northeast en route to a 80-45 victory.

The Lady Wildcats saw four players in double figures including Sydney Weatherford with 20 points, Imari Berry with 16 points, Macy Brown with 13 points and Angel Martin with 12 points.

Krysonie Mitchell scored a team-high 10 points while Kahlia Flowers and Jocelyn Jenkins added eight points each for the Lady Eagles.

Clarksville travels to take on Kenwood Friday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. for their final game of the regular season.

Montgomery Central girls basketball were unable to weather a 20-point second quarter Tuesday at home against Springfield before falling 54-47.

Sarah Rankhorn had five points in the opening quarter, as the Lady Indians faced a one-point deficit after one.

MCHS dwindled the Lady Yellow Jacket lead down to seven points in the fourth quarter before its comeback fell short.

West Creek girls continue strong finish to regular season

West Creek girls basketball earned their second consecutive victory by a final score of 55-42 Tuesday over Kenwood.

Lady Coyote freshman Malaya Woullard led all scorers with 22 points followed by Reagan Fisher with 11 points.

Shay Vaughn scored a team-high 15 points while Amaya Holmes added nine points for the Lady Knights.

West Creek will head to Northwest to take on the District 10-AAA regular-season champions Friday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m.

Kenwood gets Clarksville Friday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. at home for their final regular-season contest of the year.
