CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – After picking up a statement win over rival Clarksville in their previous game, Rossview boys basketball continued to roll on Tuesday, capturing a 57-48 win over the defending District 10-AAA champion Northeast Eagles.
Hawk sophomore Ronald Jessamy was dominant on both ends of the floor for Rossview, recording a double double. The 15-year-old finished with eight points, 11 rebounds and 11 blocks on the night.
Messiah Ward led all scorers with 14 points followed by Spencer Mimms with 13 points for the Hawks.
Marcus Averhart had a team-high 11 points while Isaiah Farrior and Jaylen Hooks added 10 points each for the Eagles.
Rossview now eyes their fifth consecutive district win when they take on Kenwood Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Northeast will look to get back on track, beginning with Hillsboro Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. in a non-district outing.
Lady Hawks edge Lady Eagles in low-scoring affair
Northeast girls basketball hosted Rossview Tuesday in a pivotal District 10-AAA matchup.
The score was tied at 34-all after three quarters of play. The Lady Eagles were unable to capitalize on opportunities down the stretch, falling 43-41 as a result.
Emani Collier finished with a game-high 20 points while Chelsea Williams knocked down three-first half triples and had 12 points for the Lady Hawks.
Rossview heads to Kenwood for its next contest set for Friday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
Northeast will look to regroup before traveling to Springfield Friday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
Patriots down Coyotes in District 10-AAA matchup
West Creek boys basketball faced off against Henry County Tuesday in a District 10-AAA road tilt.
It was the Patriots who would pick up the win, defeating WCHS 76-61.
The Coyotes were led by Ti-Anthony Wagner who had 15 points followed by Sean Lafortune with 14 points and Keith Pace with 12 points.
West Creek’s next game is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. on the road against Ensworth.
Knights shine in victory over Indians
It was all Kenwood boys basketball from start to finish Tuesday, as the Knights captured a 61-19 win at Montgomery Central.
The Knights will welcome in Northwest Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Montgomery Central hosts Creek Wood Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. in a non-district contest.
Kenwood girls earn first district win of season
Kenwood girls basketball visited Montgomery Central Tuesday in search of its first district win on the young season.
The Lady Knights led 12-11 after the first quarter of play before shutting out the Lady Indians in the second quarter to pull away for an eventual 61-34 victory.
Up next for Kenwood, is a home meeting with Rossview Friday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
Montgomery Central will host Northwest Friday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

Northwest boys scrape past Clarksville Academy
Clarksville Academy boys basketball hit the road Monday to square off against Northwest.
The Vikings would go on to protect their home floor, coming away with a 57-54 victory in the non-district matchup.
Stellar back-court play was on full display, as Cougar guard Eddie Ricks poured in a game-high 30 points followed by Vikings guard Ametri Moss who scored 22 points.
Northwest will visit Montgomery Central Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Clarksville Academy also hits the road for their next outing and will play Mount Juliet Christian Academy Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Donelson Christian.
Lady Cougars pull away late to remain undefeated
Northwest girls basketball hosted Clarksville Academy Monday in a non-district contest.
Lady Cougar senior Diamond Bryant hit a three-pointer, scored on a coast-to-coast layup and recorded a steal down the stretch to help seal a 39-36 win for her team.
The Lady Vikings were without two of their starters due to COVID-10 protocols, but NWHS’s supporting cast stepped up in their absence.
CA led 16-5 after the first quarter of play before Northwest battled back to cut the deficit to just two points, heading into the fourth quarter of play.
Atyia Moss led the Lady Cougars with 11 points.
Nia Bogerty and Emiyah Cobb finished with 11 points each for the Lady Vikings.
Northwest will travel to take on Montgomery Central Friday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. for their next game.
Clarksville Academy will take the floor again Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. against Mount Juliet Christian Academy at Donelson Christian.
