CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Northeast boys basketball opened up the 2020-21 season with a 60-48 home win Tuesday over Beech.

Keaton Allen had a team-high 19 points, while Jaylen Miller and Jalen Hooks added 12 points each for the Eagles.

Beech’s Braden Brinkley led all scorers with 22 points.

Northeast (1-0) will look to string together back-to-back wins Saturday, Nov. 21, when it takes on Brentwood.

Lady Eagles fly past Lady Buccaneers in season opener

Northeast girls basketball’s relentless pressure and transition offense propelled them to a 62-50 win Tuesday in their home opener against Beech.

Junior guard Cierra Bowser picked up where she left off last season, leading the Lady Eagles with 18 points. Emoni McCray and Kahlia Flowers also chipped in 13 points each.

Jada Jones had a team-high 18 points for Beech.

Northeast (1-0) has the weekend off before playing host to Kenwood Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m.

Knights come up short in home opener

Kenwood boys basketball cut into a double-digit halftime deficit Tuesday in its home opener. The Knights were unable to complete the comeback, falling 60-52 to Station Camp.

Station Camp’s Tyler Moore led all scorers with 18 points followed by his teammate Eli Rice with 17 points.

For the Knights, Kemari McIntosh led the way with 16 points while Jaylen Washington pitched in 14 points and Quentavious Barnes scored 12 points.

Kenwood (0-1) travels to take on Lebanon Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Knights drop home opener to Lady Bison

Kenwood girls basketball stumbled out of the gates en route to an 87-58 loss to Station Camp Tuesday at home.

The Lady Knights fell behind 26-11 after the first quarter of play and could not regroup due to a number of turnovers.

Station Camp’s Marisa Wirtz recorded a game-high 45 points.

Dante’sha Brandt led the Lady Knights with 17 points followed by Iyanna Curtis with 14 points.

Kenwood (0-1) travels to Davidson Academy Saturday, Nov. 21, for a doubleheader at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Rossview downs Clarksville Christian to tip off season

The defending District 10-AAA champion Rossview Lady Hawks defeated Clarksville Christian School 62-40 Tuesday in their home opener.

Aubrey Padgett scored a team-high 13 points while Chelsea Williams added 10 points for the Lady Hawks.

Sixth grader Lauren Hassell led Clarksville Christian with 26 points.

Rossview (1-0) travels to take on Station Camp Friday, Nov. 20, for their second game of the season.
