CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The No. 1-seeded Clarksville High Wildcats shut out Henry County Monday 10-0 in five innings to advance to the District 10-AAA championship game.
Elliott Shaw-Yohe got things started for the Wildcats in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run double.
CHS notched three runs in the bottom of the the second and four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to put the run-rule into effect. Clarksville tallied a whopping eight extra base hits in the contest.
Ethan Baggett and Bennett Mobley combined to throw five scoreless innings, surrendering just two hits and striking out three Patriots.
Kyle Magrans went 3-for-3 with a walk, home run, three runs scored and two RBIs while Garrison Goins led the Wildcats with three runs driven in.
Clarksville (29-4) will host rival Rossview Tuesday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. for the district championship.
Northwest sees season end against Henry County
Northwest baseball fell to Henry County 11-7 Monday at Clarksville High in their final game of the year.
After tallying two runs in the top of the first inning, the Vikings looked primed for a big night until the Patriots struck for five runs in the bottom of the frame to take a three-run lead.
Henry County outhit Northwest 12-5 to take control of the game.
Anthony Harris went 2-for-3 with a walk, double and two runs scored while Hunter Swanson drove in a team-high four runs for the Vikings.
Northwest finishes the season with a 6-23 overall record after making some noise in the district tournament.
Hawks eliminate Indians in lopsided affair
Rossview baseball put their foot on the gas in the late innings Monday at home against Montgomery Central, running away with a 10-1 victory.
The Hawks led 4-1 through three innings before scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.
Joshua Sanchez-Harris reached base four times and scored three times while Keagan Evick had three hits and Brady Cooper drove in three runs for the Hawks.
Nairen Smith went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored while Landon Welborn had two hits and a walk for the Indians.
Montgomery Central wraps up its season with a 21-11 overall record.
Rossview (22-15) travels to Clarksville to take on the rival Wildcats Tuesday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. with the district title on the line.
Indians defeat Eagles to avenge opening-round loss
After dropping their first game of the District 10-AAA tournament Friday against Northeast 14-10, Montgomery Central baseball bounced back to defeat the Eagles 7-4 Monday at Rossview.
Garrett Taylor pitched six innings, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out five batters in the win.
Welborn had a 3-for-3 night with two runs scored and two RBIs followed by Mark Rye with a 2-for-4 effort and two runs driven in for the Indians.
Evan Primasing went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs while Riley Blanc also had two hits for the Eagles.
Northeast sees their year come to an end after posting an 11-21 overall record.

Wildcats run away late to remain in winner’s bracket
In what was a pitcher’s duel for the majority of the contest Saturday between Clarksville High and Henry County saw the Wildcats tally nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away for a 10-0 run-rule victory in five innings.
Clarksville, the host team, went up 1-0 on a called balk in the bottom of third inning.
CHS then had 10 men reach base in the bottom of the sixth inning with nine of them scoring to put the game on ice.
Shaw-Yohe and Cade Ross each went 3-for-4 and combined to drive in three runs on the night for the Wildcats.
Hawks notch second straight victory in district tournament
Rossview baseball cruised to a 9-1 win Saturday at home over Northeast.
Collin Pedigo went four innings, giving up one unearned run on three hits while striking out six batters.
Evick and Pedigo each had three hits at the dish to lead the Hawks.
Tyler Webb finished 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Eagles.
Kessler strikes out 12 in win over West Creek
Montgomery Central baseball relied on a strong start from their pitcher Dakoda Kessler and a five-run fifth inning to down West Creek 6-3 Saturday at Rossview.
The junior left-hander hurled 6 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits while striking out 12 hitters to pick up the win.
Colton Lovelace finished 2-for-2 with two hits, two walks, two runs scored and an RBI for the Coyotes.
Eric Owen had a three-hit, two-RBI day at the plate for the Indians.
Northwest knocks Springfield out of postseason
After trailing Springfield 4-0 through three innings Saturday at Clarksville High, Northwest baseball rallied back for a 11-6 victory.
The Vikings did all their damage offensively in two frames, scoring six runs in the top of the fourth and five runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Ryan Silverstrim earned the win, throwing 5 2/3 innings and giving up four earned runs on five hits while striking out six Yellowjackets.
Zach Klenk had a team-high three RBIs while Harris reached base four times for the Vikings.

Hawks breeze past Coyotes
Rossview baseball cruised to a 16-0 win in five innings Friday at home against West Creek.
Marshall Robinson threw three scoreless innings while scattering two hits in the win.
Andrew Jordan blasted a home run and drove in three runs while Scott Dean, Dylan Kazee and Pedigo each had two hits for the Hawks.
Xaven Fowler and Jaykub Roberts had 1-for-2 efforts for the Coyotes.
Wildcats waste no time in win over Vikings
Clarksville baseball awaited the winner the district tournament play-in game Friday at home. The Wildcats drew the Northwest Vikings, but had no trouble making quick work of their counterpart in a 10-0 shutout win.
Ryan Murphy pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings, scattering two hits while striking out seven batters in the win.
Wildcat lead-off man Nathan Barksdale went 3-for-3 with a walk, double, triple, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Klenk and Harris recorded the two hits for the Vikings.
