Prentice “Dale” Dunn of Clarksville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 24th, 2024, at Skyline Medical Center at the age of 75. He was born on April 14, 1948, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Dale grew up in Woodlawn, Tennessee.
He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. He retired from AT&T, where he worked as a Digital Tech for many years.
Dale was a member of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Grand Council Cryptic Masons, Clarksville #89Free Masons, Clarksville Commandery #8 Knights Templar, and the AL Menah Shriners of Nashville.
Dale was an avid bird hunter and spent many days following his favorite bird dogs. He was involved in coaching Little League Baseball for his son and grandson. As his friends know, he loved going to NASCAR races which always resulted in many funny stories from those adventures. He was proud of his mixology skills (mainly bloody Mary’s) and was known as a beer connoisseur. Dale also loved being “Pops” to his four grandchildren and always attended their activities.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joel Prentice Dunn and Mattie Lucille Atkins Dunn, as well as, his sister, Paulette Dunn and his brothers, Jackie Dunn and Daniel Dunn.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Kennedy Dunn, son, Robert Dale Dunn (Robin), daughter, Kayce Michelle German, sister, Betty Sue Wise and grandchildren, Cooper Dunn, Emery Dunn, Isaac German, and Kennedy German along with nephews and a niece.
The family would like to thank the staff of Skyline Medical Center Trauma ICU for the care and compassion, they showed to Dale in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 2nd at 1:00 pm at the residence of Dale and Shirley Dunn. At Dale’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
