CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville-Montgomery Coalition of Concerned Citizens will hold a community prayer vigil Wednesday, Nov. 26 in response to unrest and violence surrounding the recent grand jury decision in Ferguson, MO.
The peaceful vigil will be held at 6 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 608 Main St.
The event is expected to last about an hour. Pastors, ministers, people of faith, and any members of the public are invited to join.
Coordinator of the event Pastor Willie Freeman said those in attendance will pray for Ferguson, Clarksville, and the nation and will spread a message of “peace, unity, healing, and forgiveness.”
Monday evening, a grand jury in Ferguson chose not to indict Officer Darren Wilson for the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. Since that time, both violent and peaceful protests have been staged in cities and towns across the nation, including Nashville.
