Powell Wyatt, age 77, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his residence.
Powell was born March 14, 1937 in Clarksville, TN, to the late James Ewing Wyatt and Mary Bagwell Wyatt. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Powell Wyatt; two brothers, Ray and Paul Wyatt; and sister, Carlene Midgley.
Mr. Wyatt attained his bachelors degree from Trevecca Nazarene University and his masters degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He dedicated his life to sharing the word of God from an early age, through ministry and evangelism. Powell was a counselor and teacher at Spencer Youth Center and was a retired teacher from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. He was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. Powell was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, at Grace Church of the Nazarene, with Dr. Steve Estep officiating. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, November 24 at Grace Church of the Nazarene, and on from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the church.
Powell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rosalyn (Rose) Wyatt; three daughters, Jan (Clark) Bailey of Maylene, AL; Marla (David) Robinson and Melanie (Michael) Welch, both of Clarksville; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Clark Bailey, David Robinson, Michael Welch, Tommy Wyatt, C.J. Wyatt, Christian Wyatt, Zach Wyatt, and Connor Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Remodel Fund c/o Grace Church of the Nazarene, 3135 Trenton Road, Clarksville, TN 37040.
