Polly Jane Weems Davenport, age 74, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, in Clarksville, TN.
Polly was born in Clarksville, TN, to the late Kenneth Taylor Weems and Stella Jane Wall Weems. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Davenport; and two brothers, Bailey “Red” Weems and Fred Weems.
Mrs. Davenport was a retired sales professional at Blums. She was a member of Forest Street United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Polly loved hosting family and friends, who were the light of her life.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 8 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. S.N. “Sonny” Kim and Phillip Buckner officiating. Burial will follow at Rye’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3 p.m.to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 7 and from 10 until a.m. the hour of service on Monday, June 8 at the funeral home.
Polly is survived by her son, Wayne (Lea) Albright of Tampa, FL; daughter, Cindy Albright (Ed) Baggett of Clarksville; two brothers, Larry Weems of Indianapolis, IN and Locke (Pam) Weems of Clarksville; two sisters, Kitty Nell (Kenneth) Stockdale and Sue (Joe) Brown, both of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Josh (Betsy) Baggett, Payton Baggett, Janie Albright, and Jacob Albright; great-granddaughter, Lily Eubanks; great friend and caregiver, Helene Otten; and special caregivers, Leola Hutton and Connie Winfrey.
Pallbearers will be Josh Baggett, Jacob Albright, Mark Stockdale, Jim Weems, Larry Joe Weems, and Jared Griffey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forest Street United Methodist Church, 416 Church Street, Clarksville, TN 37040; or to the American Diabetes Association, 220 Great Circle Road, Suite 134, Nashville, TN 37228.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Cha and the staff of Spring Meadows Healthcare Center, for the excellent care they provided to Polly.
