CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The New Providence Community Policing Center (NPCPC), Austin Peay State University (APSU) Campus Police, and Clarksville Police Department (CPD) recently worked together to provide a bicycle to a family in need.

CPD Officer Jeff Derico, representing NPCPC, presented the bicycle to Ms. Larissa Taylor on the morning of November 24. The bike is for her 17-year-old daughter, Tyler Yoho.

Officer Derico became aware of the girl’s need when Officer Charyl Ramsey from the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Campus Police, who also represents Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville, contacted him to see if Taylor’s daughter qualified for a bicycle.

It was determined that Tyler did qualify for the bike, which she plans to use to run various errands for her family as an alternative to walking or riding the bus. Tyler will receive the gift in time for her birthday, which is November 26.
