CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- Clarksville Police are warning motorist about the intersection at Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Old Farmers Road where several serious car wrecks have occurred.
One this month was a fatality.
On March 21, at 6:45 p.m., a 62-year-old woman died from injuries she sustained in a car wreck at the intersection of MLK Parkway and Old Farmers Road (SR-76)
The 62-year-old woman was driving north on Old Farmers Rd in a 2003 Mercedes-Benz and pulled out in front of a 2018 Isuzu commercial box truck, driven by a 32-year-old man traveling east on Martin Luther King Pkwy. The Isuzu collided with the Mercedes at the intersection.
The 62 year old woman was flown by Lifeflight to a Nashville medical facility. The 32-year old man was treated at Tennova and released.
There are no charges pending.
Additionally, there have been two other very serious bodily injury crashes at the same intersection–Martin Luther King Jr Pkwy (SR-76)/ Old Farmers Road since the beginning of the year.
The primary reason behind the previous crashes was the vehicles entering the Pkwy from Old Farmers Rd did not come to a stop at the “STOP” sign on Old Farmers Road and pulled out in front of oncoming traffic which had the right of way.
