HOPKINSVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been arrested for assault and allegedly threatening to rape the daughters of the officers who arrested him.
According to a report, police were called to a home on Wayne Dr. Wednesday evening. The victim said she was in a verbal argument with Michael Figueiredo, her live-in boyfriend, when the argument turned physical and he allegedly punched her in the back of the head.
When officers arrived and tried to arrest the suspect, they said he tensed up and pulled away from officers to avoid being handcuffed. As they brought him to the patrol car, officers said Figueiredo was yelling and cursing and then threatened the victim, saying he would send someone to find her.
On the way to the jail, police said Figueiredo repeatedly kicked the back doors of the car, causing them to bow outward. The estimated cost of repairs is more than $1,000.
At the jail, the suspect reportedly said he would find the officers’ families and rape their daughters.
Michael Figueiredo was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and three counts of terroristic threatening.
